Teachmint acquires video engagement platform Airlearn to expand it’s developer Offerings
Teachmint, an education infrastructure startup and creator of India’s largest teaching platform, has announced its third acquisition with Airlearn, a video engagement platform for education businesses. With this cash + stock deal, Teachmint strengthens its developer offering called Teachstack, enabling edtech companies across the globe to build state-of-the-art classroom solutions for their users. This comes at the heels of Teachmint’s latest acquisitions of course-selling platform Teachmore and Singapore-based Teachee’s India team.
Teachmint is building the infrastructure for education globally and ‘Teachstack’ is specifically enabling edtech organizations to deliver a distinctive online learning experience to their students. The offering is also significantly reducing go-to-market time for edtech players by providing them ready-to-launch classroom solutions. Founded by Awadhesh Kumar and Somveer Payal in 2020, Airlearn is a video engagement platform providing customizable live teaching and learning solutions to edtech organizations. With this acquisition, the entire team at Airlearn becomes a part of Teachstack, with Awadhesh and Somveer taking up critical roles as the Director of Product and Director of Engineering respectively.
Commenting on this announcement, Mihir Gupta, CEO & Co-Founder, Teachmint, said, “We are thrilled to have Awadhesh, Somveer and the entire Airlearn team join the Teachmint family. Teachstack is a very unique enterprise offering from Teachmint’s product suite which has already seen adoption from global edtech startups. By joining hands with Airlearn, we further expand this offering and also grow our Teachstack team with highly experienced tech and product talent.
At Teachmint, we have built our own proprietary classroom technology to reimagine the infrastructure for education around the world. With this acquisition combined with our robust proprietary technology stack, we are truly excited to make education infrastructure the next big export from India!”
Over the last few months, Teachmint has partnered with multiple growing edtech startups across Asia including Bangladesh-based Shikho and Ostad as well as Malaysian edtech Pandai to help them deliver classroom solutions to millions of students through Teachstack.
Commenting on this new phase of Airlearn, Awadhesh Kumar, Co-Founder, Airlearn, said, “Teachmint has made amazing strides towards building a world class infrastructure for education and we are thrilled to join hands with them. The potential for the impact we can bring in the edtech space globally by coming together is immense and we are truly excited about the synergies we can create. Somveer and I have worked on multiple products but solving for education has been our common interest over the years. We look forward to working with the fantastic team at Teachmint and building even more innovative solutions for education worldwide.”
With adoption from 10+ million users, 4,000+ educational institutes and multiple international edtech partnerships, Teachmint today is the only solution catering to end-to-end technological infrastructure needs of educators ranging from K-12 schools to after-school tutoring to universities and even edtechs. These acquisitions also come at the heels of the company’s series B fundraise of $78 million, in October 2021.
